Concluding research

National newspapers appear to have a more specific target audience with regards to social class, for example The Sun appears to be targeting a more working class audience through its use of images and cheap offers, whilst the Daily Telegraph attempts to attract more upper/middle class readers through the abundance of sophisticated articles. Local and national newspapers alike feature articles and adverts that begin on the front page and are continued inside in order to provide a better insight as to what is included within the rest of the newspaper. The prices don't appear to vary according to area, but to target audience. The Sun is the cheapest newspaper which I have studied, and The Daily Telegraph is the most expensive, both of which are national papers. The local papers vary from around 30-50p.

Below is a venn diagram highlighting the differences and similarities of national newspapers, local newspapers and broadsheets.
