Creating a logo

Using fontspace.com has been successful for me and I have create three logos:
This font is very blunt and serious, and I think is quite appropriate for a newspaper. I like the way 'Wickham' is lined up with 'Gazette' and that they are both aligned to the left.
I think that this font is too thin to be the logo on a newspaper and wont stand out enough, however I do like the style of font.
This is the same font as the previous design, but in bold. I feel that now it is bold it will stand out more, and is now more appropriate for a newspaper title. I like the way 'Wickham' fits perfectly between the 'G' and the 't' in Gazette, making the word 'Wickham' stand out more without taking up too much room.
This font is quite thin and long, but I feel that it looks appropriate for a newspaper. The word 'Wickham' does not sit as comfortably as the previous fonts between the 'G' and 't' however.

After researching logos from local and national newspapers, I have decided to use the red colour and a serif font, similar to the Halstead Gazette, as I think it is very eye catching, and highlights the word 'Gazette' well. I also like the way it contrasts with the black. I am struggling to decide on which logo to use, so I am going to conduct a survey to see which one the public prefer.
