Text in newspapers

Newspaper articles are written in columns which cover most of the page, usually featuring one to three sentences per paragraphs. The font size is usually small, around 8 or 10, in order for a lot of text to fit into the article, which provides value for money and a lot of content in the story. Paragraphs are indented and easy and quick to read. The establishing paragraph sums up the article and lets the reader know all the information that is included in the story. When describing a person, their age is shown after their name, and if know, the area they come from will be mentioned after that. For example 'John Smith, 41, of Evergreen Terrace, Springfield...'. If an article has a photo, the text is usually placed below or to the side of it.
